Jobtoberfest 2008 - In conjunction with National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October, the San Diego Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities is proud to present the Ninth annual Jobtoberfest, the largest job fair for people with disabilities in San Diego. This highly attended event will be held on October 1, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Balboa Park Club in Balboa Park.

Jobtoberfest is like no other Job Fair in San Diego County. There will be workshops on "How to work a Job Fair", "Mock Interviews" and more. Additionally, we have several volunteers to conduct resume reviews and an IRS Representative to assist you with filing for the Economic Stimulus Package - it's not too late!! Our employers are enthusiastic and ready to meet you. This is your opportunity to make a great FIRST IMPRESSION. Dress for Success, Be Confident, and Be Ready to meet San Diego's Finest Employers!

The employer tables are filling up fast. For San Diego Employers, this is the Job Fair you want to be a part of. Registration fee is $100.00, the most affordable and attended Job Fair. Please contact Caren Harris at (619) 767-2100 for registration information.

FREE Training - SDCEPD in conjunction with Jobing.com is hosting a free seminar titled "Accommodations in the Workplace." The training will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Jobing.com. Their address is 2878 Camino Del Rio South, #410, San Diego, CA 92108. If you get lost, call 619-297-3232. Registration is from 9:00 - 9:30 a.m. and the seminar is from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Refreshments will be served. We anticipate this one will fill up quickly. This training is targeted for HR Professionals, Managers, Supervisors, and Small Business Owners.

We accomplish our mission through:

'Jobtoberfest', An Annual Job Fair for People with Disabilities, held in October during National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
Co-Sponsor of Reflections, an annual exhibition of fine art by Artists with disabilities.
Sponsorship of other organizations and events that increase awareness for and in support of creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Serve as a resource for upcoming Job Fairs and location of job training for people with disabilities.
Serve as a resource for employers who desire Disability Awareness Training or information on assistive technology or other methods to provide reasonable accommodation for employees with disabilities.
Collaborating with other public and private agencies that provide employment services for people with disabilities.
Membership on other Organization Committees such the San Diego Disability Action Coalition and the San Diego Disabled Forum.
